The PV Community Food bank is a very rewarding and fun place to volunteer. There will be a short meeting in my office then we will take a short tour of the food bank. We will go back to my office. You will have the opportunity to ask questions. I look forward to meeting you
Current Volunteering Opportunities
Weekend Food4Kids Program
A driver to pick up food bags from the food bank and deliver them to Indian Bend school. This is a once-a-week activity/commitment. The driver would pick up 80 bags. There are 7 plastic bins of food bags. The driver will need a SUV or truck.
Please visit the food bank website to see more information about this very amazing program. You would be delivering bags of food to Indian Bend for children to take home over the weekend. Otherwise, they might not have food.
Set-up Room Volunteer
Volunteer once a week on the same shift on the same day of the week and the same time. This volunteer position requires that you can, occasionally, lift 25 pounds. This volunteer position assembles custom Family Food Boxes to be given out to the food bank’s neighbors who have made appointments and come in to pick up their food. Currently there are several two hour and three hour shifts available.
Area Captain
This position orchestrates school food drives. This Area Captain position only has 8 schools to organize school food drives. We have contact information for each school and a well-planned procedure to set up the food drives. All the schools have had food drives in the past so it is only a matter of assisting them this year.
